Puerto Rico to Build World Bitcoin Center to Resist State Corruption


Puerto Rico's House Speaker Rafael "Tatito" Hernandez said the growing blockchain industry could bring more accountability and transparency to the public sector in an effort to fight state corruption, the company said Dec. 8. He hopes his country can become one of the cryptocurrency hubs of the planet. Earlier this year, Cuba, another Caribbean island nation, announced plans to adopt cryptocurrencies as a tool to overcome the country's financial turmoil.
